Food was ok but nothing special. Slow cooked feather blade was average. Sunny terrace was a great spot. Staff was really good but waiting time for food was a bit too long. What’s dodgy about this place is that when you walk in you are told immediately cash only and that they have an ATM inside. When went to withdraw cash it was charging me a huge fee and exchange rate for euro was shocking so must be some business going on between owner and ATM company. Difference was almost €30. Refused to withdraw cash and suddenly they accepted card payment.

I feel as though this place is so underrated for the atmosphere and food it puts out the staff are always greeted with a smile and it’s great to have people who have a bit of craic while also being able to put out such an exceptional service honestly the terrace upstairs is just unbelievable for something like that to be sat in newry it’s my spot for a pint an a burger as it never once came to disappoint hats off to the chef honestly

A large, well kept place. Great space. We ordered the duck and steak. Really well presented, the sauces were excellent, nice garlic potatoes and chunky chips were real chunky chips, perfectly cooked. Spotlessly clean glasses too. We were the first customers in and it was a quite cold so bring extra layers. Very nicely done The Oliver. Will definitely be back.

Stopped here on our way back from Dublin. It was not busy at all, and as a former Duty Manager in a very busy restaurant, I know how Easter Tuesday evenings can be. I know that this isn't necessarily a sign! Food along with the service was excellent. The Menu was indeed very tempting but wanted something simple as we still had a long drive ahead. My wife and I shared the Monkfish Satay, which was absolutely to die for. The Pub Burgers we had as mains were excellent as well. Our kids were more than happy with their meals. And considering the prices of things these days, the bill wasn't too bad either. If in the area again, we will definitely be back to try some of the more tempting dishes.

We started off with Hot and Spicy Chicken Wings, with Cashel Blue Cheese Dip, Celery and Carrots. It was very flavorful but I would not categorize this as hot or spicy. I ordered the Pan Fried Salmon, Potato Gnocchi, Butternut Squash, Wild Mushrooms, Spinach, Creamed Leeks, Kale Crisps and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was great, the atmosphere perfect as it was a quiet afternoon. Exactly what we needed.
